How does the HydroMaid work?

As water enters the HydroMaid through a separate valve, the water forces a piston to move back and forth 340 degrees. Attached to the piston are a series of five stainless steel cutting blades. These blades cut, shred, and chop food waste as the piston, moves back and forth using water pressure that is plumbed directly into the unit.

What is the number one cause of a disposal breakdown?

Corrosion in one form or anther is related to 90% of breakdown. Other customer concerns are chronic jamming, not grinding properly, clogging drain lines and noise. The HydroMaid disposals are made of non-corrosion materials that prevent corrosion, therefore, we can offer a lifetime warranty against corrosion. The HydroMaid grinds more efficiently, finer and quieter than all of the leading brands because of our fine intermittent stainless steel blades and our use of quiet flowing water instead of electricity to power our disposal.

Why is the HydroMaid unit so quiet?

Because we use the quiet power of water to create torque to process the food rather than the use of electricity and a noisy high speed motor.

What is the difference between a batch feed and a continuous feed unit?

Continuous feed disposals are found in a majority of homes. Food can be continually fed into the unit while water washes through the system. It is activated by a wall switch, or in our case, a simple on and off water valve located on your sink. A batch feed unit must be loaded in batches. A batch of waste would be loaded in the grind chamber. The stopper is then placed in the unit and turned. The activation device is located in the stopper.
